Hi — I’m Kimberly, the voice behind Tea With Honey.
I grew up in a home where emotional safety was… let’s call it “under construction.” Boundaries were optional, chaos was consistent, and childhood required more survival skills than a wilderness retreat. When I became a mother, I made a quiet, stubborn promise to myself:
The cycles end with me.
(And yes, I said it with the same tone I use when telling my kids to put their shoes on for the fifth time.)
Tea With Honey is where I write about what it actually looks like to raise emotionally healthy kids when you didn’t grow up with a blueprint — and how humor, sarcasm, and the occasional well‑timed prank can keep a family sane.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog is a mix of:
1. Real stories from a cycle‑breaker who refuses to be defined by her past
Some stories are tender.
Some are messy.
Some are funny in that “I can’t believe this is my life” way.
All of them are honest.
2. Parenting guidance that’s practical, not preachy
I’m not here to tell you to make color‑coded chore charts or meditate at 5 a.m.
I’m here to talk about:
- emotional safety
- boundaries
- communication
- parenting while overstimulated
- and how to stay calm when your child is melting down and you’re one noise away from evaporating
3. Humor — because healing doesn’t mean you stop being funny
I love pranks.
I love sarcasm.
I love the kind of jokes that make my kids roll their eyes and secretly laugh.
And I believe humor is a parenting tool — one that breaks tension, builds connection, and reminds us we’re human.
You’ll see that here.
Often.
Why “Tea With Honey”?
Because this space is meant to feel like sitting down with someone who gets it — someone who can talk about childhood trauma and laugh about the time their kid tried to microwave a fork.
Warmth, honesty, and a little sweetness to soften the strong stuff.
My Mission
To help parents:
- break cycles
- build emotional safety
- raise kids who feel seen and heard
- and laugh along the way
Parenting is hard.
Healing is hard.
Doing both at the same time deserves a medal — or at least a blog that tells the truth with humor and heart.
Let’s Talk — Seriously, I Want to Hear From You
Tea With Honey isn’t meant to be a one‑way street.
I want to hear your stories, your questions, your “you won’t believe what my kid just did” moments, and your own cycle‑breaking wins.
